Kensuke Koike (JP): Existence of the Unknown

July 08, 2022 in Photography, Visual Art

ABOUT THE ART

”Every frame represents a portion of their face, and maintains their facial characteristics. In the end and all together the frames reveal the never seen or dreamt aspect of themselves: real and at the same time not real, but nevertheless existing even if unknown.” - Kensuke Koike on ‘No One Knows’

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kensuke Koike (b.1980, Japan) creates unique artwork by manipulating found, vintage, photographic material. Kensuke’s approach to the medium revolves around the idea of using the assets found within an image to create something new and contemporary. The process for the artist often starts as a puzzle begging to be solved with each image setting its own unique challenges.
