ABOUT THE ART
This week we celebrate Singapore, and acknowledge the things that make up this incredible island state. Enter into Singaporean photo journalist, Feline Lim’s viewfinder. These are snapshots from her personal growing collection, simply titled ‘daily life’.
Often posted on her Instagram account with nary a caption, these photos speak for themselves. To an outsider, they offer a glimpse into our country’s culture and living conditions; to the rest of us more acquainted with Singapore’s idiosyncrasies, Feline’s work is very simply, home lor.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Feline is a photographer and visual artist based in Singapore. She started her photography career at Singapore’s national broadsheet, The Straits Times, where she was hired as an intern for six months in 2017 before returning to the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information to complete her degree in photojournalism.
In the same year, she attended the school's top journalism programme, GO-FAR (Going Overseas For Advanced Reporting), where she did a feature on South Korea's growing solo economy that was published in TODAY. She later went on to pursue and self-publish a photojournalism thesis project on gambling addiction. Prior to graduation in 2018, she started working as a photographer for Reuters to cover stories both locally and abroad. Her time at the company has also seen her work as a TV news producer with Reuters Videeo Network, and a multimedia journalist for Reuters Plus, the agency’s branded content arm.
